Q. How does biological  management work?

A. We provide the products, consultation and assistance to:
  • Reestablish nutritionally balanced soil through testing and correction.
  • Reestablish abundant microbial activity in the soil with the use of live microbe products used on the soil and seed, and with foliar applications to the plants.
  • More efficiently manage the application of fertilizers and chemicals needed in crop production. (It has been proven that better crop yields and better quality soils are evidenced through the use of biological additions and reduction of fertilizers and chemicals - 50% or less in rate applications.)

Q. How long does it take to see the results of biological management?

A. Most crops show results in the first year, then progressively improve each season, obtaining optimum soil health and crop yields after 2 to 4 years of good soil management practices; depending on conditions of climate, chemical contamination and soil health.

Q. Are biologically produced crops better quality foods?

A. Yes! Our food is more efficiently digested due to the presence of abundant amino acids. Crops grown biologically have a longer storage life which relates to a healthier food source. It is not necessary to use many of the chemicals on biologically grown food which are consumed as residues. Animals that are fed biologically grown food gain weight faster while consuming up to 50% less food.

Q. Why hasn't biological management been more widely used before now?

A. Biological management of soils has been scientifically proven for many years but it has been easier to apply fertilizers and chemicals than to use good management practices.

The optimum period for agriculture, in which we had witnessed abundance and profit in the past is changing due to climate, soil mismanagement and the speed in which the changes are happening. In combination with natural changes, we have been and are still destroying the very soil that is the sustainer of all life on this planet, the soil on which we depend for our food, livelihoods and sustainable future for coming generations. Further, we are contaminating our ground water supplies and overall world environment with continued excessive chemical and fertilizer use to produce food.

Q. Can chemicals be used with Tainio Technology's Products?

A. Yes. Our products are compatible with many insecticides, fungicides and herbicides. (But one benefit of our balanced nutrition program is that you can reduce or even eliminate chemicals.) Caution: Some chemicals will destroy all bacteria, good and bad alike. Please consult us first if using microbial products with chemicals.

Q. What is my cost to benefit ratio if I use the biological program?

A. The cost of the actual products is comparable to conventional methods of farming and turf management.

The benefits are many!
  • Increased fertilizer efficiency = big savings on fertilization costs!
  • Improved residue decomposition and soil tilth = easier tillage.
  • Improved water absorption, retention and drainage in the soil = increased water efficiency and reduced irrigation costs. Losses due to drought and soil erosion are greatly reduced.
  • Reduced risks from weather stresses, drought, lodging, nitrate toxicity induced burning of crops = fewer losses!
  • Improved germination and seedling survival = better and more uniform stands.
  • Increased plant vigor = increased competitiveness of plants against weeds for easier weed control.
  • Improved crop quality, increased test weight, protein, oil, sugar and mineral levels = increased feed and market value.
  • Dramatically increased yields + lower operational costs = higher profits!

Q. Aren't microbes bacteria, and doesn't bacteria make you sick?

A. Microbes are also called bacteria or microorganisms. There are many millions of different species of bacteria on our planet, of which only less than 1% are harmful. Bacteria are necessary for the survival of all life as we know it. In soil, they work together to provide and maintain nutrients and structure, among many other important activities.

Q. How do you know there aren't harmful bacteria in your formulas?

A. Each species of bacteria are carefully and individually cultured in a laboratory under strict quality control standards. As a matter of fact, if there happens to be harmful bacteria in your soil, our microbial products will create a more balanced eco-system in that soil, keeping the harmful bacteria in check.

Q. Do Tainio Technology products control insects and diseases?

A. Healthy, nutritionally balanced plants are not susceptible to disease.  Plants weakened by poor soil conditions put out a frequency recognized by insects as food. An insect cannot recognize the frequency of a healthy plant and will pass it up for an unhealthy one. Insects and diseases are only symptoms of a failing crop, not the cause!

Q. Recently, I have been reading about genetically altered bacteria being used to treat diseases in agriculture. To me this is scary. Are your bacteria genetically altered?

A. No. Our microbes are natural, soil born bacteria created by Mother Nature, our leading expert in the field of creation.

Q. Why do your formulas contain so many different varieties of microbes? Isn't one or two enough?

A. We have found that overwhelming the soil with only one or two species may temporarily solve a problem, but in the long run it will cause an imbalance, creating even more and sometimes worse problems. Our formulas are designed to mimic nature, thus creating balance and harmony in the soil's eco-system.
